Cyclists are more interested in the common good than drivers are and its backed up by data. This effect has been studied with quantitative data in areas related to political participation, social participation, neighborhood solidarity and neighborly helpfulness. Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg. Motorists kill cyclists and pedestrians at an alarming rate every year and usually walk away with what amount to a slap on the wrist. Car-brain people stink.
