ATW x Phil x Chet Malinow - 28/28 Salmon

Utilizing the classic Phil Wood Fixed Track Hubs in 28h/28h single side fixed, finished with a base of black cerakote and then hand painted by Chet Malinow using 1shot enamel.

We start with an empty shell of the classic high flange track hubs from Phil Wood. The single side fixed option is selected to maximize the surface area that can be painted allowing for a great non-drive side view. Once the shells & lockrings are finished we ship them back to Phil Wood for quality control and final assembly with their Carbonyte bearings.

The next step is to get these into the hands of Chet for painting. Each line is pulled by hand with a brush using 1shot enamel, just like sign painters and pin-stripers do. Each hub is totally unique.

When we get the hubs back after cerakote, assembly & paint we package them into hard-shell, water & air tight cases for safe keeping until you find the perfect rims to lace them to.

Our recommendation for these hubs is to follow the Phil Wood care installations guide, which specifically calls for retightening the cog and lockring after a very short ride, excerpt below.
“The track cog may tighten down more after the first few rides due to additional torque from your legs. This could result in the lockring no longer being flush with the cog. If you do not tighten the lockring after the cog tightens down, it could strip the track cog or lockring threads”
